Monkey business! We travelled up to the north of the Island to visit the nature reserve at feeding time. It was amazing when we got there to see so many monkeys, deer, tortoise an iguana and a couple of peacocks all eating happily from the same food source!
I wore my black shorts again (River Island) and my orange vest top (Topshop) which I bought for summer last year. Although I would usually shy away from colours like this I actually love this top and how it compliments a tan. It goes with any dark bottoms and pretty much any necklace.
Last night we held a party for my Gran’s family who all live in Barbados. I bought by skirt two winters ago from Forever 21 but it has hardly left my wardrobe because I only like to wear it when I have a tan or it will wash my legs out! It’s one of my favourtie skirts though and I love that the zip opens up at the front. The orange top (River Island) made an appearance again because I think when you find a combination that looks good you should wear it as much as you can!
Beach day! It has been so gorgeous and sunny I have had to spend as much time as I could on the beach! My black white and pink Aztec shorts are from primark but you would never tell! The bright pink is a great pop of colour and I love wearing neon colours against black and white. My bikini is from topshop, they did lodes of colours in this style which is always very tempting to buy the whole rainbow when holiday shopping!!
We went out for lunch along the west coast at a restaurant sat right on the beach. My shorts (topshop) and top (river island) work really well together as I find it hard not wearing either black top or black bottoms but the white shorts makes a nice change. I have always been so against wearing orange (it is my least favourite colour and my mum once said it should only be used in emergencys) but after trying on this tip I thought I should give orange a chance and am glad I did!!
I spent the day exploring Barbados as the sky was overcast so we thought we would make the most of the slightly cooler weather by going into the City. Bridgetown was not what I expected of a city but was great to see and I bought some novelty shot glasses for my friends. I wore my little green shorts from topshop which have been my summer staple even since I bought them about 3 years ago! I’ve never seen any shorts the same colour so love wearing these as much as I can. Because they aren’t highwaisted I never pair them with a crop top as I feel there would be a little too much on show so wore my plain black vest top from River Island. The top goes with anything and like most clothes I have bought out here with me keeps me nice and cool. My once white converse and now my ‘dirty shoes’ but I love the all white style and would love another pair to try and keep clean!
This bull (called Marge) was in the court yard of Lime Grove, the designer shopping area where unfortunately I was only looking and not buying.
Day one in Barbados!! The weather is incredibly hot which and the beaches are gorgeous! I spent my morning and afternoon on the beach wearing my ‘aloha’ top (accessorize) and red shorts (primark), I packed lots of throw on clothes that are easily taken off and put on when on the beach.
For lunch we went to Sunbury Plantation house where they conduct tours of the historic house giving the history of the house and plantation. We only had lunch which was still lovely and it was great to see some of the islands history. I wore my blue high waisted denim shorts (topshop) and white/black light vest top to keep me nice and cool.
I changed my outfit again for dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Cafe Sol. I felt a little over dressed but over dresses means you are always the best dressed! The play suit is from Oh My Love, I have seen lots of girls wearing this play suit around Southampton on nights but I know why as its it’s such a light, cool fabric but with such a great summery pattern.
Today I made the long 9 hour long journey to Barbados. The transition from English weather to Carribean weather was a factor I had to consider when choosing my travel outfit. I was planing on wearing a pair of thin black leggings but I forgot to back them before I left uni- typical! Instead I wore my black skinny jeans again and my sparkly silver top (also from River Island). The colour of the top is so summery it will be perfect to wear to summer festivals, the cuts up the sides will also keep me cool in Barbados as well as being a cheeky design feature.
Outfit no.1 had to be this gorgeous shiny dress from Topshop! I originally got this dress in the sale for New Years eve which I celebrated at home in the local Weatherspoons (classy). Back in Southampton and with a Saturday night in Oceana on the cards I paired the dress with my black heeled sandals (also from Topshop) for that Saturday night glam! I’m in love with this dress as it makes me feel like a disco ball and changes colour; rubbing the dress so the sequins face the other way the dress becomes a matte bronze. I don’t often wear heels out clubbing but Saturday nights are an exception, plus these shoes are incredibly comfy so I’m able to dance (badly) all night long.

Apologies for the terrible full length image but a photo can only come out so well after a few double vodka red-bulls!
